Starlight
By chandula Arsakulasuriya

Unce upon a time
I dont know what century
What decade
AD or BC
There was a son and father

They were in a country
I dont know what country
Perhaps by the sea
Perhaps by the woods
Or may be in the country
Or the city

It was simply noon
The son and his father were
Looking at the distant
The Father said suddenly
"The sun is s star, you know ?"

How come the sun is
A star?
Asked the wise boy
Stars come at night
You are fooling me

Nope, said the truthful
Father
The sun is a star
Birth of life
There are billions of them
The sun is just a star

"Hmm" said the confused son
So this is not sunlight
This is but starlight?
Asked the clever boy

Father was aghast
But he managed to smile
And on on on
He smiled and he patted his son
Yes, you are right
It is just starlight

It is strange father
Why ? Asked the father
Now it does not make sense for me
I need sunlight not starlight

"Hmm" said the pensive father
Yes sunlight is better than starlight
And then the pause
And together they bathed
In "starlight"
And thought how come some wonders lack names.
